Blackstone plans to acquire AirTrunk, an Asia Pacific data center company, from Macquarie Asset Management and the Public Sector Pension Investment Board for an implied enterprise value of over USD 16 billion. This represents Blackstone’s most significant investment in the Asia-Pacific region. The transaction is subject to approval from the Australian Foreign Investment Review Board.

Blackstone states that in the next five years, approximately USD 1 trillion of capital expenditures will be made to build and facilitate new data centers in the United States, and an additional USD 1 trillion of capital expenditures are expected outside the United States. Blackstone is a leading investor globally in data centers, with a significant presence in the sector's debt and equity markets.

Blackstone has invested in the debt and equity of other data center companies, including as an owner of QTS, one of the fastest-growing data center companies in the world. Coreweave and Digital Realty are also key Blackstone clients. Additionally, Blackstone is focused on addressing the sector’s power needs in many differentiated ways, including as an investor in renewable energy companies, such as Invenergy, the largest independent renewable energy developer in the United States. Additionally, Blackstone is planning to invest USD 25 billion for data center development.
